Here at Topic Flip we believe everyone has the ability and knowledge to teach others and enrich the lives of those they touch.
But sadly, most of us struggle with “imposter syndrome”. Where we truly believe no one wants to hear what we have to say.
What is imposter syndrome? It is a feeling of inadequacy preventing you from succeeding, from fear others will see you as “fake” and only pretending to be authoritative.
It was first identified in 1978 by psychologists Pauline Rose Clance and Suzanne Imes. In their paper, they theorized impostor syndrome uniquely affected high-achieving women. Clance later acknowledge that impostor syndrome is not limited to women.
If you struggle with imposter syndrome, keep reading and let’s crush it together.
Having the Right Mindset
There will always be someone smarter than you! That’s just a fact of life.
Heck, I can name 10 people (within my circle) right now I would consider smarter than me.
But that doesn’t make them any more important or capable of teaching others. It’s all about perspective.
Lets say a highschool history teacher is told they need to teach a math class for the rest of the semester.
The history teacher has never taught math. So, what does the history teacher do?
They grab the math book and start reading… right where the math teacher left off.
They literally read ONE CHAPTER AHEAD!
I call this having a 10% EDGE.
That could be the mantra of this post. Say it with me, “They read one chapter ahead.”
As a student in highschool most likely you didn’t question your math teacher’s ability to teach math.
Even if it was the history teacher filling in for the math teacher.
As long as the teacher was reading one chapter ahead of the students they would always know more.
They would have the 10% EDGE.
That’s where I want you to see yourself.
Finding Your 10% EDGE
What is something you know 10% more about than someone else?
No matter how much we try to convince ourselves, our thoughts constantly turn against us and tell us, “You’re not good enough.”
I’ve seen these thought patterns stop so many would-be entrepreneurs in the tracks… sad!
And since there are very few who I would officially call an “expert”, we’re all in the same boat. Just trying to be better every day, make our mark on this planet, and help people along the way.
You may ask yourself, “I’m not sure if I’m an expert?”
I’m here to tell you… YOU ARE! Through your life experiences, education, successes and failures you have something to share.
And when you share what you know by teaching others, you become an EXPERT. People think they need to be the best-in-the-world at something before they can call themselves “an expert”.
Sure, we all want to better and we should always learn, but I’ve discovered if you know 10% more about a topic than someone else… you’re an expert. You may not know everything there is, but you know enough to share with others.
Part of how we become better and more knowledgeable is by teaching. And you’re just the person I want to give this free website too.
I don’t want to see you struggling with theme designs, logo placement, mobile responsiveness, plugin choices, slow website. I want to see you get started today and become the expert you’re meant to be!
We’ve all had experiences, whether good or bad, that have taught us things that we can teach others. And make some income in the process.
Teach Your 10%
Every one of us has something to share. And if you know 10% more about a subject than someone else, then you need to teach!
Tithe Your 10%
We only get one chance at this life and I, for one, do not want to live it grasping on to what I have. Giving to others is the hyper-fuel for happiness!
Be Transformed 100%
If you Teach Your 10% and Tithe Your 10% your mind, heart, and spirit will grow and you will be transformed 100% of the time…guaranteed!
